THE BREAKFAST CLUB IS GIVING BACK TO MENIFEE SENIORS

While the pandemic has limited The Breakfast Club to take-out, curbside pick-up and free delivery, they have kept their menu intact. But after speaking with the Owner and General Manager, Christopher Vitolo who bought the restaurant two years ago, I was even more impressed to find out that even when profits are way down, they are giving back to the senior community. Because Vitolo has such compassion for the elderly citizens who may be struggling during the pandemic, he has been a supporter of the Menifee Meals Program in which The Breakfast Club contributes and delivers over 1,200 meals each Wednesday to seniors in need. The way he described it is, the team prepares 5 meals for 240 seniors, the amount of meals has increased each week and at the time I wrote this article in mid-May, that was the current count. He plans on implementing the program until the restaurant can officially reopen. So in the interim, they need your take-out patronage in order to continue their incredible outreach to the community.
As I sit here in typing out this article, Governor Newsome just announced that he will be loosening up restrictions for restaurants which means that the restaurants can open up to diners with social distancing. So by hopefully by the time this article is published many of the local restaurants will be open again.
Now about the excellent food, in case you have never been there, The Breakfast Club has been open since 2009, serving breakfast and lunch every day and has even been voted “Best Breakfast” in the region by the local business community. They are committed to use only the highest quality, freshest and locally sourced ingredients and make many of their house favorites from scratch; being best known for generous servings and an expansive menu. The versatile menu ranges from traditional egg dishes, omelets, breakfast burritos, house-made corn beef hash, pancakes and waffles to mouthwatering salads, soups, sandwiches and the perfect burger made just the way you like it. They offer alternative menu items such as house recipe Gluten-Free Pancakes, sugar-free items and turkey bacon.
A favorite feature of The Breakfast Club of Menifee is a full-service coffee bar which is limited during the pandemic. Their barista will craft to order a specialty coffee drink; either hot, iced, blended and freshly brewed teas.
Because the focus of this article was take-out during the pandemic, they let me come in and photograph the actual plating instead of in the to-go containers. I asked Vitolo to serve up the signature favorites and he chose from the breakfast menu, the Ham Eggs Benedict and Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy and Hash Browns, both were nicely presented and filled with homey flavor. To represent the lunch menu McKenna, a lovely server of five years presented a beautiful club sandwich with Ham, Turkey, thick cheddar cheese lettuce and tomato and was another generous portion and finally a humongous Santa Fe Chicken Salad, with grilled chicken, greens, black beans, corn, tomato, cheese, tortillas topped with a gorgeous fanned avocado drizzled with the best homemade ranch dressing that I have ever had.
Breakfast Club of Menifee is open from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm to take your orders. They also have Essentials Pack menu with things like eggs, chicken, milk, OJ, rice, beans, toilet paper, pasta, breads and many other staples for a terrific price. Call for the complete list and prices.
